Education

2021-2023

Professional Master of Education Art and Design with Digital Media
TUS Limerick School of Art & Design

My PME course involved 2 periods of school placement, allowing me to immerse myself into the life of secondary school art and design departments, while refining my Visual Art teaching skills.

Highlights during the course included building a lifelong supportive community of practice with my colleagues and benefitting from the expert advice and experience from the lecturers and tutors in both TUS LSAD and the University of Limerick, as well as from my co-operating teachers during teaching practice.

Building a repertoire of differentiation teaching strategies for SEN students has given me vital knowledge and skills to facilitate a classroom environment where all types of learners can maximise their potential and feel safe seeking support.

2003-2007

BA (Hons.) Graphic Design and Digital Media
ATU Donegal

In Letterkenny I learned and refined the fundamental skills needed in visual communications. Graphic design, digital media design, film, photography, web design, print and audio production were some of the modules that gave me the knowledge and skills needed in the working environment. These four years were incredibly enjoyable and formative for me, and happily my community of practice from this time continue to support each other through our careers.

2002-2003

QQI-FET Level 5 Art, Craft and Design
Cavan Institute

Building on from my love of Visual Art in secondary school I completed the one year portfolio development course at Cavan Institute. Disciplines such as life drawing, sculpture, design, and printmaking were all refined, and an end of year self-curated exhibition in the Cavan County Library gave me valuable experience in the challenges and opportunities in being a working artist.
